Arctic Monkeys, Style Model 1

The Arctic Monkeys are by far one of my favourite (if not my favourite) bands and I'm absolutely obsessed with the way they dress and the style of there music. I've been a fan from day one and the transformation of style over the past few years has completely. I'm in such ore of how the band looks now, so cool and sophisticated in their suits and Alex Turner (lead singer) with his now signature quiff.

The Arctic Monkeys now how a very distinct style and their newest album AM reached the top of the album charts after its release last year.

I really want to try and copy and take ideas from their style as I think its just superb. I love how they look and what they wear. Here are a few pictures, a few personal favourites, previous covers and style in general.

Chosen Genre

The genre I have decided to use is Indie Rock as I am a huge fan of bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Foals and The 1975. In terms of how I can take ideas from other indie magazines I have looked at alternative magazines such as Flaunt, IMR and Bearded. The bands I have chosen to use as examples and style models for my magazine and band are Arctic Monkeys, The 1975 and the Foals. All three bands have very different styles so I plan to attempt to merge all three bands together, whether this will work or not I'm not entirely sure but I will give it a go and change things if necessarily.

NME

NME is one of the magazines I plan to use as a style model for my magazine.
Arctic Monkeys are one of my favorite bands and this is a very good cover but very busy.
I like the idea of the artist/s being the central image and magazine name NME covered slightly.
The NME is a very well known magazine company and have a distinct style and design both on the cover and within the articles. The NME can afford to cover the name slightly and it has began to become a regular thing for them. Other magazines such as Q and Rolling Stone also use this cover up technique as both are well known mainstream magazines.

I like how the majority of the NME's covers used the classic colour combination of black, white and red so that even though the covers are busy and full of text the colour isn't too much so that the cover becomes overcrowded and too much.
