Targets

My targets for the next few lessons are to find suitable fonts for my magazine and to do another shoot with Luke. After I have done another shoot with Luke with the 'Mod' style I'm looking for I can then try to put everything back together again.

Teachers Feedback

After handing in my first draft for my magazine, I know now what I need to work on to improve my magazine and to ensure that it is in the top band (band 4) along with the rest of my work. These are some changes that he recommended.

Cover:

• All text is too big - Font doesn't work - isn't very 'Mod'
• Imagery - Luke doesn't look like a 'Mod' 
• Bar code is too big
• Add some coloured imagery 

Contents

• Again, text far too big
• Page looks too busy
• Include more bands that dress in the style I'm looking for 
• Change some brands, for example use Pretty Green instead of Armani 
• Ensure that the 'Mod' theme is present throughout 

Double Page spread

• Not 'Mod' enough 
• Boring to look at - No colour

MOJO Magazine

Test Shots

For my test shots I chose to use a different location to a simple studio so I decided to see what my images would look like using a gravity wall. Because my artist is going to be "clean cut'" I wanted to create the contrast between the graffiti wall and my chosen model.

I think for the next photo shot I need to get Luke in smarter clothes as he doesn't look like a 'mod' in these photographs. A few peers mentioned that he looks like an 'indie' artist which is close to the chosen genre but doesn't fit my style ideas.
